r.i.p. lisa "left eye" lopes - thoughts & prayers to her family and friends. i'll make sure to toast one in memory of this crazy lady tonight.
on an unrelated note, i miss the lovely lauryn hill! her new unplugged album comes out soon, though - can't wait. wish i could hear "everything is everything" right about now - i love that song; the album was such a great debut.
i've been seeing their name all over the jamband scene, but when i saw that they are the new featured artist at okayplayer i had to sit up & take notice ;-) i dig crossover artists - ALOT!
the other day, much to my suprise, i found #664 - from the 1000 journals project - sitting at my desk at work! i signed up for this so long ago, honestly, i forgot all about it and couldn't figure out who had sent me a package from california. as it turns out, it came at a great time, as i'm heading off to san fran tomorrow and now i can bring this with me.....
speaking of my trip, i'm heading west tomorrow afternoon, for a bit of a breather. i'll be gone for about 5 days, back on monday evening.
i can't wait!
i'm COMPLETELY booked up, as i'll be spending just about every free moment staying with one of my oldest friends' up in mill valley; partying it up with some of my best friends from college on 4/20; and last but not least, i'm finally gonna meet up with some of the phunkiest girls in town: leblanc, amy stoddard, and [hopefully] laura & dramabug - you girls rock, i can't wait to hang out on sunday!
bonnaroo likely to sell out by the end of the week! straight from the site:
"we wanted to let everyone know that tickets are selling very quickly and will likely sellout this week. If you plan to attend, be sure to purchase your tickets immediately!"
given it's tax season, if you happen upon $6100 you're just dying to throw away, my favorite piece is the ocean macchia ;-)
and while we're on the topic, the garfield park conservatory has extended the exhibition, titled, "Chihuly in the Park: A Garden of Glass," and it will run until September 8, 2002. for lots of great pictures, check out chihuly's own section devoted to this installation - chihuly at garfield park.
i am now the proud owner of a new fuji finepix 2600. there were a few reasons behind this choice, mainly, i could walk out of circuit city yesterday with it in hand, and a positive review from the salesperson didn't hurt it's chances. she also mentioned that the canon powershot A40 is harder to come by these days, and given my upcoming trip to san fran, i wanted something i could start using right away.
thanks to all for your comments & suggestions, i really appreciate it - it really made my decision so much easier. tonight i will sit down & attempt to install whatever needs to be installed, and hopefully i can start taking some pictures as well. wish me luck!
basically, i'm really looking for something near the $300 mark, and i really don't need all the fancy bells & whistles, just a good little camera to get me started. i've never been big on taking pictures, as i'm known to lose my cameras, so i will have to make a serious effort to keep my hands on this one.
last night was my first yoga class - it was GREAT! big thanks to jes, for hooking me up with sarah, my intro class buddy. i'm already looking forward to class next week; i just wish i hadn't waited so long to start, but hey, better late than never, right?
hey all you bonnaroo kids - i see my hits are climbing with all you coming in through the search engines......
i still haven't decided on the festival, because i haven't had many takers on my offer to drive down. i'm skipping out on a trip to europe this summer, so it's feasible to take the time off work. however, i just need a few travel companions before i can make my decision.
spent the weekend with my family, visiting my brother out in the iowa city / coralville area. now, back to work, gearing up for my first yoga class tomorrow evening; wish me luck!
